Contemporary Art Fair
Sevil Dolmacı Gallery is thrilled to meet art enthusiasts at the 19th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, taking place at Tersane Istanbul from October 23-27. The gallery will showcase a curated selection of works by both renowned international and Turkish contemporary artists, as well as promising emerging talents, at booth B1-16.
Known for its internationally-focused strategy, particularly in the American art market, Sevil Dolmacı Gallery presents an exclusive selection of works by David Salle and Peter Halley, two major figures in contemporary art who will be showing solo exhibitions in Turkey for the first time. Their pieces, specially created for Istanbul, will be on display alongside works from renowned American sculptor Barry X Ball’s “Purity” series, making its first appearance in front of Turkish audiences. Emerging American artists Eric Shaw and Sam Jablon, both of whom have made their way into prominent global collections, will also have their works exhibited at the fair.
The gallery is excited to offer a dynamic selection of contemporary works from artists across different continents. Mexican artist Bosco Sodi, German-born artist Robert Janitz (currently based in Mexico), and Romanian artist Daniel Knorr (who works between Berlin and Hong Kong) will be featured with their intriguing creations. In addition to these, Australian artist Mark Whalen’s sculpture and Ghanaian artist Felix Kwesi Awotwi’s canvas piece, both being shown in Turkey and the Middle East for the first time, will be among the highlights at the booth.
From Turkey, Ahmet Oran and Ekrem Yalçındağ will captivate audiences with their latest works, debuting at Contemporary Istanbul 19. Ekrem Yalçındağ’s brand-new series, which draws inspiration from his latest “Natures” collection, is set to create excitement. This series will also be presented at the Cologne International Art Fair and during his solo exhibition in Seoul, Korea, following the fair. Another notable name joining Sevil Dolmacı Gallery is Elvan Alpay, who is presenting her works for the first time in six years. The gallery also proudly represents sculptor Nilhan Sesalan, whose piece will be one of the standout artworks at the booth. Alongside these established names, emerging talents such as Gençay Aytekin, Sinan Saül, and the gallery’s newest discovery, Tuna Özkaragöz, who is making her debut at Contemporary Istanbul, will showcase their exciting creations to art lovers.
