Villa Ipranosyan, our main gallery space, which has the status of a second degree historical monument, is located on the Pervititch maps under the name of “Villa Ipranosian”, prepared between 1922-1945. The building is named after the Ibranosyan family of Armenian origin, textile merchants at the beginning of the 20th century. While keeping its original wall frescoes and decorations, the building was reorganized specifically for the gallery.

The Sevil Dolmaci Residency is an Istanbul based invitational residency program that hosts artists at all stages of their careers. Founded in 2021, the residency program aims to build connections between international artists with the rich cultural legacy of Istanbul. The program aims to give artists the time and space to think, reflect, and create new work. We encourage practitioners to think outside of their typical practice and experiment with any media of their choice, from painting to ceramics, performance to large-scale sculpture. We also encourage discussion and collaboration between local artists, curators and collectors with international residents.
Resident artists are invited to make work and live in a building located in Beskitas, a vibrant and exciting Istanbul neighborhood with a bustling harbor. Situated just a short walk from Sevil Dolmaci Gallery, the residency house is a four-floor domestic space with separate areas for living and working. Stunning views of the Bosphorus add to the beauty of the space, which is ideal for creating. Visiting artists also have frequent access to the gallery, gallery artists and staff.
The residency is flexible, but it is recommended that artists plan to stay for at least four weeks in order to give time for visiting local museums, collections, and galleries as well as to produce new work.

Sevil Dolmacı Dubai opened its doors on November 6 in the Design District, which is the heart of Dubai, and where art, design, and fashion meet. Sevil Dolmacı Gallery was opened in 2020 in the Villa İpranosyan Building, which is the main gallery space in Istanbul. The gallery that has collaborated with important curators since the day it was opened and expanded its artist portfolio and carried out important exhibitions and projects, aims to create an impact on the Turkish art sector and to contribute to the developing art scene in Dubai.
