Jiri Georg Dokoupil (b. 1954, Czech Republic)
Dokoupil is famous for his Business Paintings in the 1980s and the Soap Bubbles that he started in the 1990s. One of the attractions of Dokoupil’s career is the variety of different styles and movements he represents. In the late 1970s and 1980s he was involved in a movement of artists opposed to the principles of minimalism and conceptual art. In general, the public knows him for his elegantly creative and conceptually rich painting techniques, such as rolling colored painted tires on a wet canvas and painting them with caramelized breast milk.
Dokoupil’s works were exhibited at the Venice Biennale and Documenta in 1987.
