Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery presents ceramic artist Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu’s exhibition titled “Dialogue” between 29 June and 23 July. Kayalıoğlu, who produces sculptures out of the usual forms in ceramic art, brings together two opposite materials by using clay and epoxy.
Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics, explains the freedom of shaping that ceramics offer in terms of texture and form.
He uses his emotional conveyance in a surreal language. By using the static appearance of the ceramic material together with the fluid and vivid image of the epoxy material, the artist manages to exhibit two opposite concepts at the same time, revealing the dynamic structure of human dialogues in his works.
The works of Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu, who convey the daily movements, emotions, mimics and gestures of people with a unique interpretation, convey the dialogues that seek their own places in the space, with fragmentary figure arrangements. The artist believes that the harmony of the natural structure of ceramics with hand shaping is one of the biggest reasons for its integration with ceramics. In addition to hand shaping, the artist also uses three-dimensional design and shaping technologies that can be integrated with ceramics and includes different materials such as metal, wood and epoxy in his work.
Ceramic artist Ali Cihan Kayalıoğlu’s second solo exhibition “Dialogue”, which tries to explain the limits of people’s own creations and their being stuck in the frames they have created themselves, can be seen at Sevil Dolmacı Art Gallery between June 29 and July 23.
