MUBIN ORHON

Born in Istanbul in 1924, Orhon studied at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences and then he realised he was more interested in art when he went to Paris to get his PhD at the Sorbonne University in his own field. Following this orientation, he studied patterns at the Académie de la Grand Chaumiere. After his geometric abstract works, he adopted a spotish approach that was similar to that of the Paris school artists. In the 1970s, he made monochrome studies inspired by Eastern philosophy. His paintings were considered eastern lyricism. He died in Paris in 1981.
